About Alex Scroppo
As a senior vice president of Sanmina Corporation, in charge of the Backplane and Cable Division, Alex Scroppo manages manufacturing facilities spanning North America, Asia, and Europe. The plants’ general managers report to him about all aspects of operational performance, and he reports directly to the Interconnect Division’s president. Since 1998, when he took up the position, Alex Scroppo has taken pride in ensuring sustained divisional profitability and financial consistency.
Born in New York, Mr. Scroppo spent his childhood up to age 10 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Completing his engineering degree at Southern Methodist University magna cum laude, he served as the president of the Mechanical Engineering Honor Society. Mr. Scroppo began his career in the late 1980s with DSC Communications Corporation (now Alcatel Lucent). As a senior manager of new product engineering, he ensured that new products were efficiently transitioned into high-volume production.
Passionate about cycling, Alex Scroppo has taken part in Ironman triathlon competitions. He has also driven BMW performance cars at the technically challenging Nurburgring track in Germany.
